Buller does a ‘pub crawl’

Buller seems to need a ‘reviver’

BULLER Churchill, bulldog mascot of the Brisbane Naval Depot, was A.W.L. yesterday afternoon, and will be confined to barracks for a week for his misbehaviour. He wandered away from the depot early in the afternoon and went on a ‘pub crawl’. He was seen in the Bellevue Hotel, George Street, and later on was noticed in the Belfast Hotel, Queen Street. From there he followed Mr. Sam McCarroll, well-known publican and golfer, to the Hotel Daniell in George Street. He was “given one on the house”, and at 6.15 p.m. he was “put under arrest” by two naval ratings, and taken back to the depot. He seemed very tired after his day out. Mr. W. C. Maguire, of Long Street, Petrie Terrace, noticed Buller in the Hotel Daniell and rang the Naval Depot.
