Joy the parrot at the Bridge Hotel, Yackandandah, Victoria, went to sleep with his long tail dipping in his water bowl. Although the cage was placed in a closed shed for the night, thewater froze, and in the morning the ice had to be broken to release the bird.

The Bridge Hotel is no longer trading, and is located in Yackandandah, a small tourist town in north-east Victoria. It is near the regional cities of Wodonga and Albury, and is close to the tourist town of Beechworth.
