WITH an axe someone last night cut half-way through a wooden verandah post at the Glynde Hotel, Payneham road, Hectorville (SA).

The post is about five inches by five inches and the cut was made about three feet from the ground.

The licensee, Mr. P. C. Duncan said today that he heard a noise about 10.45pm, but did not get up to see what it was. He had no idea who had cut the post.

The post probably will have to be replaced. This will cost about £2.
