Reverend Sander’s visit to Perth’s ‘seamier pubs’ found nothing ‘disgusting’

THE man with his hand on a bar room door in Perth is the general secretary of the Victorian Temperance Alliance, the Rev. E. S. Sanders.

He is an investigator for the Victorian Royal Commission into liquor problems.

After visiting a dozen of Perth’s seamier hotels he said, “I didn’t see anything that was actually disgusting or greatly displeasing, but I certainly saw nothing that made 10pm closing look any more desirable.”
