How the bar of the Karara Hotel looks today. Picture: Supplied
A 32 year-old mother of five was killed on Sunday when a beer barrel exploded in a hotel bar. The incident occurred in the bar of the Karara Hotel, 30 miles south-west of Warwick, Queensland. The woman, Elva Dorothy Forbes, wife of the licensee, was working in the bar only a few feet from the barrel when it exploded. The blast smashed bottles on the shelves and was heard up to 200 yards away.
