EXTERMINATOR Mr. C. E. Cumnick, of Fullarton, inspects the floor of the dining room of the Norwood Hotel, which has been partly eaten away by white ants. He opened the floor and found that a stump, 5 ft. in diameter, had been eaten away, including the taproot. Mr. Cumnick, who treated the stump a year ago, said it was the worst nest he had seen inside a building. The hotel, over 120 years old, was built over the stump and the foundations laid across the wood.
