The Gasometer Hotel, Collingwood.

An explosion, which shook the building, blasted the lock from the front door of the Gasometer Hotel, Smith-street, Collingwood (Victoria), early on Saturday. An unexploded stick of gelignite was found beside the door, but police believe only one stick was detonated. Police believe the explosion was intended to frighten the licensee, Mr. William Moore, and was not the work of intending thieves. They are seeking a man who was involved in a dispute with the licensee last week.

Age (Melbourne, Vic), Monday 3 September 1951.
